Touring Tongva Park, Santa Monica
In Case You Missed Out………
Over 80 American Society of Landscape Architect members, friends and colleagues spent Saturday April 16 on a tour of Tongva Park in Santa Monica. Seeing the park through the eyes of Robert Perry, FASLA, Bob led a two hour tour, focusing on the design richness of the Park, including ideas of species diversity and carbon sequestration. Bob Perry was the key horticultural consultant on the project, assisting with the planting of native and locally sustainable plant species.
California Waters, an ASLA member, provides all of the service and repair for the 3 fountains, splash pad and runnels in the park. One of the most interesting design aspects we’ve noticed is that the splash pad was designed to use potable water which is then recirculated to a completely separate fountain across the way.
