The challenge for this project was to keep the original design intent from the 1980’s to ensure that it continued to blend in with the surrounding style while updating it for continued use. California Waters completely removed all existing tile and installed new tile that maintained the integrity of the original design. The entire basin was re-waterproofed. Behind the scenes, all mechanical and electrical systems in the vault were removed and replaced. All piping within the vault was switched to stainless steel to prevent corrosion from the salt air.
